The hulls are fiberglass hand-layer over a three-quarter-inch Airex core, beefed up to five-eights inch at the keel and reinforced at sheer, chine and stem. With their beam-to-length ratio of four to one, these boats knife through the water so smoothly. They lay out a wake quite unlike other hull designs, where the transom sinks deep into the water. The Midnight Lace simply rises its full length with minimum bow rise, with a subsequent smaller, flatter wake. These Lace's combine near-trawler fuel efficiency with fast cruising-boat speeds.
